My story

Let me introduce myself with the six questions that underpin almost all briefings:

Who | What | Where | How | Why | When

Who am I?

I’m Christine Mes, a native English copywriter, proofreader, editor, language trainer, and workshop leader with over 20 years of experience working for marketing, communication, PR, and language agencies.

What do I do?

When it comes to copy for PR, marketing, or communication, you name it and I’ve probably turned my hand to it. Websites, brochures, product leaflets, banners, press releases, backgrounders, product packaging, adverts, voiceover scripts, tenders, emails, event invitations, newsletters, magazine articles, …
As well as copywriting, editing, and proofreading, I enjoy helping others to
improve their writing, business, and language skills through workshops and
trainings. Additionally, I have experience in managing online and hybrid events and creating marketing and communication materials.

Where do I work?

To be honest, I’m a little lost. About 25 years ago, I left my native England for sunny Belgian shores – and I haven’t got around to leaving yet.
I’m now based in Lier, happily working for agencies in and around Antwerp,
Mechelen, Brussels, Hasselt …

How do I work?

First things first: talk and research. What’s your background? Your needs? Your future plans?
The more I understand about your current situation and future ambitions, the better I can tailor your message, translating it to fit the chosen medium so it reaches your target audience.

Why do I do this?

There are so many ways to answer this one… Why we’re here is a bit deep for this website, so I’ll focus on why I write. Simply put, I enjoy the challenge of simplifying a complex concept, ensuring a text reads smoothly, enticing your target audience to react in a specified way, … What’s not to love?

Plus, as an “eternal student”, I treat each project as a new learning experience. Different markets, different products, different medium – there’s always something new to discover.

When’s the best time to contact me?

Well, now is as good a time as any. Feel free to contact me by email or phone to discuss your current or future projects.
